Mastercard Foundation Africa Higher Education Health Collaborative, KNUST has equipped 302 primary healthcare workers with entrepreneurial skills in Northern Ghana.
It was also meant to foster a culture of innovation and collaboration within the healthcare sector.

The participants acquired practical knowledge and skills that extend beyond traditional healthcare roles, enabling them to actively contribute to the socio-economic development of their communities.
The 10-day training was organized across eight metropolitan, municipal and districts in the Northern, Savannah and Upper West Regions to empower staff of Ghana Health Service and CHAG with entrepreneurial skills.
“Recognizing the dynamic landscape of healthcare there was the need for innovative approaches to address emerging challenges.
“In response to this, this transformative initiative was undertaken to organize a Health Entrepreneurship workshop,” said Prof. Wilberforce Owusu-Ansah, pillar lead, Health Enterpreneurship.
He added: “The geographical dispersion of the training across eight metropolitan, municipal and districts reflects a commitment to ensuring widespread adoption of health entrepreneurship principles. Each district served as a hub for knowledge dissemination and collaborative learning, fostering a sense of ownership and empowerment among the participating staff.
