The KNUST Africa Health Collaborative has been honoured for its outstanding contribution to advancing research, innovation, and capacity building in health education during the 2025 College of Health Sciences (CoHS) Excellence Awards Ceremony at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi.
The Collaborative received the Distinguished Corporate Award in recognition of its strategic role in strengthening academia–industry partnerships, promoting youth employability, and supporting transformative health initiatives in Ghana and Africa.
Professor Christian Agyare, Provost of the College of Health Sciences, said the awards were instituted to recognise individuals and organisations driving the College’s success in research, teaching, and service.
“We needed to recognise those behind our success: the staff, benefactors, and collaborators who keep pushing the College forward,” he said. “Even among those already honoured, we see continued excellence as they strive for higher recognition. That spirit keeps the College advancing toward eminence.”
He commended partners like the Africa Health Collaborative for aligning academic outcomes with national and global health priorities and for sustaining innovation during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.
The annual CoHS Excellence Awards celebrate excellence across teaching, research, service, student achievement, and corporate partnership. Now in its third edition, the ceremony continues to serve as a platform for recognising contributors to the College’s mission of producing health professionals who are globally competent, community-oriented, and innovation-driven.
